# World Structure

The old world exploded in a catastrophe a long time ago. Now there are endless flying islands that make up present day Murrlandia. These islands are interconnected by some sort of magic left over from the catastrophe. Through this phenomenon, a system of teleportation was invented that is facilitated by large Mana Crystals. Interacting with these crystals enables the player to traverse the many flying islands.

This method of transportation, though reliable, is also rather complex. Whereas some crystals can be used to teleport between two locations many times, others activate only one way.

Islands come in the following types:

### **Home Archipelago**

This is a collection of islands belonging to each player. They can build on them, set up crafting stations, refine resources and craft various items.

### **City Island**

This is the game’s social hub, a place for socializing and advancing one’s standing with different factions.

### **Wild Islands**

These islands are full of resources and treasures to find as well as animals, magical creatures, stranded Meowkles, Wargs and bandits to interact with. Some of the inhabitants are friendly, and others are hostile.

From the Home Archipelago, players can travel to the City Island and the Wild Islands.

Wild Islands come in **different sizes** as well as difficulties depending on their **level** and **tier**.

These parameters determine the quantity and quality of resources that can be found on the island, as well as the initial cost needed to reach it. Traveling to Wild Islands requires a special resource called portal runes. These can be found in various corners of Murrlandia.

The level of the resources that can be found on the island **depend and correspond to its level**.

The tier of an island determines its difficulty as well as the quantity and variety of rare resources that can be found there. The higher the difficulty the more valuable the resources are for building and crafting.

The size of an island determines the number of resource nodes, animals, enemies, and consequently, the time it takes to explore the island.

The player can choose the size of the island for all levels and tiers, except for the starting islands which have a level 1 and tier 1. After completing the tutorial, the option to visit all level 1 islands becomes available, allowing players to choose the desired tier and size of the island.
