The most essential items can be crafted directly from the inventory. However, crafting most in-game items requires a crafting station.
Crafting stations are set up on the home island using the building mode and are divided into two types:
Refineries
Workbenches
Sawmill (planks from wood)
Masonry (bricks from stone)
Smelter (ingots from metal ore)
Loom (fabric from grass)
Tannery (leather from animal skins)
These crafting stations are used to refine basic resources and turn them into more advanced crafting materials, such as turning wood into planks or metal ore into ingots. Refined resources are essential for crafting equipment, consumables and building certain objects.
When initially constructed, a crafting station is set to level 1, allowing the processing of only level 1 resources. To increase the crafting station’s level and gain access to higher level recipes, the player must build and place an artifact for that crafting station. These artifacts function similarly to other building objects and must be placed near the crafting station in order to upgrade it. Each object increases the crafting station’s level by 1.
Weapon Forge (weapons)
Armor Forge (armor)
Tools Workbench (tools)
Alchemy Table (throwable items and potions)
Kitchen (food and drink)
These crafting stations are used to craft equippable and consumable items such as weapons, armor and potions.
Manufacturing crafting stations are governed not only by levels but also by tiers, of which there are four per level.
When first built, the crafting station is set to level 1 and tier 1. In order to unlock more advanced recipes, the crafting station must be upgraded to a higher tier or level. This can be done either by simply upgrading the crafting station to raise its tier or by installing an artifact that will increase its level by 1 and unlock access to higher level recipes.
The following equippable items can be crafted using the manufacturing crafting stations: weapons, armor and tools . The effectiveness of equipment depends on its level and tier. Higher levels or tiers will increase the damage of weapons and tools, while armor benefits from higher defensive stats as well as increasing the character's mana pool.
When crafting an equippable item of a certain level and tier, the crafted item can possess different rarities:
Common
Uncommon
Rare
Epic
The chance to create an item of a higher rarity is entirely random. The rarity of an item determines the number of additional attributes and aspects (advanced effects) that it will randomly receive on craft. Additional attributes and aspects will raise the item's effectiveness and give it unique properties.
Recipes for more effective consumables and throwable items become available as the crafting station is upgraded to higher levels and tiers. However unlike equippable items, they do not have rarity variations and randomized attributes.
