# Catolyst

Catolyst is a premium currency, obtained by exchanging $SHARDS Proxy or $[SHARDS](/usdshards-token.md) Tokens with a special vendors. It can also be obtained through player trading on Open Loot. Its purpose is to replace direct token spending and help stabilize Web3 gameplay costs.<br>

Mr. G is a vendor and a Catolyst Supplier, he can be found in Meowtown in-game, allowing players to obtain Catolyst in exchange for their $SHARDS Tokens at a 1:1 exchange rate.
