The WorldShards economy introduces a player-driven system where in-game assets hold real value and contribute directly to the gameplay experience. With a strong emphasis on ownership, transparency, and fair play. WorldShards empowers players to shape the in-game economy while offering real-world benefits.
Player Ownership
In WorldShards, every collectible item, island, and token is fully owned by the players. These assets are freely tradable on platforms like Open Loot, allowing players to extract tangible value from their in-game achievements.
Equippable Collectibles
Collectible items are integral to gameplay but are balanced to avoid direct advantages in combat or other activities. These items have real in-game value and are critical for engaging in the gameโs crafting and resource management systems.
Max Supply: every type of collectible item has a fixed supply, ensuring scarcity and maintaining value over time.
Player Crafted: collectible equipment are crafted by players using a combination of in-game materials and premium currencyโ Gems. Other collectible items, such as islands, artifacts, and decorations, cannot be crafted.
To craft collectible items, players must install Artifacts on Islands with available slots.
Islands: each player begins with a home island and can expand their archipelago by acquiring additional islands. Islands have artifact slots that determine their collectible item crafting capacity.
Artifacts: these utility items interact with workbenches (armor, weapons, tools) to enable crafting of collectible items and determine the maximum rarity of items produced.
$SHARDS tokens can be acquired as random drops during adventures from actions like defeating enemies, gathering resources, and opening treasure chests. The chance of obtaining tokens is influenced by the "Luck" parameter of the equipped collectible item and the adventure's level and difficulty. To receive tokens in the game, players need to:
Equip at least one unbroken collectible item and activate the temporary "Attraction Force" effect by using its charges.
Collectible items have charges that dictate the usability of the "Attraction Force" effect. When entering an adventure, a portion of the itemโs charge is used up. The amount of charge that is used up depends on the size of the adventure.
$SHARDS tokens are a very valuable resource in the world of Murrlandia. They are used to increase the "Luck" parameter on collectible items, to increase the rarity of a collectible item, processing Ancient Rifts
To charge collectible items, players must once again rely on their Islands and Artifacts.
Collectible items have charges that wear off not based on the time that has elapsed but based on the amount of content the player has progressed through. This reduces the importance of the time spent clearing locations. It allows players to enjoy their time in Murrlandia, engaging with the content at their own pace rather than rushing through in a race to find the exit.
Beyond functionality, WorldShards includes decorative items that allow players to personalize their islands. These items provide aesthetic value and gameplay utility, contributing to the Comfort of their Home Island, a stat that is critical to the building and upgrading of their islandโs workbenches. Players can acquire collectible decorations through in-game drops, giveaways, or by purchasing them on the Open Loot.
$SHARDS Token serves as the foundation of the WorldShards economy. With a fair launch model - no allocation to the team or investors - it ensures stability and shields the economy from artificial price manipulation. Players receive $SHARDS primarily through in-game activities.
The total supply is 5 billion tokens, vesting over 6 years and 60% of these are dedicated to player rewards, creating a sustainable model where active participation directly benefits players.
$SHARDS supports long-term growth by being deeply integrated with the in-game mechanics. Players spend tokens to make their items more valuable, keeping demand high and the economy balanced. They can also trade tokens on external platforms, creating a real economy that is directly tied to their in-game progression.
Scarcity is key: as more players engage, token circulating supply remains limited, contributing to the stable value of in-game assets and tokens.
WorldShards prioritizes fairness and engagement to create a balanced and enjoyable economy:
Equippable collectibles do not provide direct advantages in combat compared to non-collectible gear
No restrictions to the locations and content based on exclusive ownership of specific assets
Rewards are balanced based on the adventure level and tier, not layout or completion time
Players who engage with the core gameplay, like completing dungeons or participating in crafting, will be more fairly rewarded for their efforts.
There are traditional web3 economy features, such as renting of the assets, that do not require active engagement from the owners of the assets.
Attached Artifacts enable the creation and interaction with Collectible Items
Collectible Items are needed by players in order to gather tokens
$SHARDS Tokens are required to increase the rarity, luck level, and consequently the value of collectible items
